Saint Petersburg Poetry Festival “In the context of the classics” St. Petersburg Planetarium, Russia – Live recording, May 19 2022 The poetry festival "In the context of the classics" has been held in St. Petersburg (Russia) for more than five years. Modern poets perform their poems accompanied by an orchestra, presenting a synthesis of poetry and music. The poem "Night shooting" is recited by the author and head of the festival Sasha Nikonov with the music of Vassilis Papadopoulοs. Artistic director of "Classics' Context’s Orchestra" - Olga Vasilevskaya The poem is dedicated to Sergei Frolov Night shooting, village, water-power plant. The dome of cloudy skies returns to black. The bushes on the shore, behind the willow - turn even blacker. Camerist next the tripod, adjusting camera settings - turns to all blacker than black. And only waterfall’s light splashes, on my shoulders falling, I hear white … It minds me easier going to tell, than save the sight in frame inside – it’s wonder of the shooting at midnight. Took of the backpack, brought it to a sward, the man with camera strive his soul outward - through camera lens. And outward goes through that lens to man. And where’s nothing true to see at all, except the darkness noise he sees a haze, a water’s mirror voice… And something else that I can’t give a name – it’s so hard that makes me dizzy blame. “Classics’ Context’s Orchestra” Olga Vasilevskaya - violin Natalia Yagovdik - violin Diana Zozulya - violin Tatiana Stashkevich - violin Konstantin Voloshin - violin Alexandra Agapova - viola Dzhenaldina Zhuravlyova - viola Ekaterina Novikova - violonchello Evgeny Tislenko - contrabass Polina Orlyonok - flute Lada Eliseenko - flute Nadezhda Ilyina - oboe Sofia Smolyak - clarinet Daria Vorobyova - piano Evgeny Dmitriev - percussion
