THORNBURY PARKRUN REVIEW Event #198 - The HARDEST 5K I've Done Yet! Thornbury Parkrun! A flat parkrun around a very windy and fairly hilly Mundy Playing Fields and Thronbury Town FC. The course is run on a mixture of tarmac paths and grass! Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain! Join me as I provide an in-depth review of my Thornbury Parkrun experience. Thornbury Parkrun is a slightly hilly course, predominantly on grass except for a 300m stretch of tarmac on each of the three anti-clockwise laps. The start and finish lines are close to the building in the middle of the park. Dogs are prohibited, however, buggies / prams are allowed at this parkrun. There are toilets, including a disabled toilet at the pavilion in the centre of the park, right by the start / finish area. The route is run on a mixture of tarmac paths and grass, therefore, trail shoes are reccomended. In terms of how busy the parkrun is, it is a very quiet parkrun, so there is plenty of room to overtake throughout the run. There are on average 82 runners/joggers/walkers a week. Due to course being hilly and mostly on grass, it is not a great parkrun if you're trying to get a pb! The atmosphere was great and there were some great volunteers to keep you going! Every Saturday I take part in a 5K run trying my hardest to get under 20 mins. Thornbury Parkrun is a great run to tick off the "T" on the alphabeteer challenge and it is the second "T" I have done!
