Metropolis Illinois Superman Celebration & Mini Con Adventure

This weeks adventure brings us to the Superman Celebration in Metropolis Illinois which is the home of Superman and the Super Museum. The Super Museum gift shop contains Superman and super hero merchandise of all kinds and the museum has over 70 thousand rare screen used costumes. props and antiques that you won't see anywhere else. They have a Superman costume from the TV Show, Christopher Reeves wigs from the movies. Plus, old video games, pin ball machines and screen used contraption that was used by Lex Luther in the 50's TV show! Many people showed up in Metropolis for the Superman Celebration, including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Green Lantern and Spiderman. They were all happy to meet with you and have their picture taken with you. This was also a Mini Con so there were dozens of people dressed up in the crowd. I met the Ghost Busters and even saw a Super Dog! The purpose of coming here was to surprise my good friends, Nomadic Hippie and Steph from stephsstuckinatruck. I also got to see the historic Riverview Mansion in Metropolis Illinois which is a beautiful bed and breakfast in the area.
