Welcome to the full-length Newborn Unit (NBU) Orientation training. This video is designed to help nursing students and staff quickly build practical, bedside-ready skills to care for sick and vulnerable newborns, especially in low-resource settings. The training follows a structured flow covering newborn unit operations and protocols, touch times (Also known as clustered care), vital signs and danger signs, feeding and medication workflows, neonatal resuscitation basics, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and key resuscitation points, and how to use essential equipment in the NBU such as oxygen concentrators and cylinders, CPAP, radiant warmers/Resuscitaires, incubators, phototherapy lights, and suction. This training video was created to give nursing students starting their rotation in the Newborn Unit or Neonatal Intensive Care Unit a baseline level of knowledge, enable them to more effectively assist nurses with patient care, reduce repetitive teaching for nurses, and improve patient care, especially in low-resource settings. SUBTITLES: This video HAS subtitles you can TURN ON in the YouTube player.
