Hey team Something slightly different in this video but a subject that needs talking about, CTE, brain damage. Years ago no one thought about it to much and when a fighter was “punch drunk” it was time to retire . Having been involved in combat sports for over 4 decades I’ve experienced plenty of head trauma , and unfortunately I do show signs of CTE, the symptoms are Memory loss, confusion, impaired judgement, aggression, depression and progressive dementia. As fighters we have to accept that there are consequences to our sport So we need to limit the possibility of head trauma, as quite often it’s not till years after the head trauma that symptoms start to appear, the thing is we need to spar to work on our fight iq , timing, ring craft, reactions, defensive movements etc Hard sparring is essential if your going to step inside the squared circle But if not you can still enjoy sparring with minimal risks Body sparring is fun but not without consequences, believe it or not I’ve seen someone with a black eye from body sparring . Let me know your thoughts about this subject But as always check out this video on open stance tactics • Orthodox vs southpaw. 3 realistic ways to ... train safe, train hard but train intelligently #boxing #beginnerboxing #boxingtips #thesweetscience #learntobox #fighttips
