The Oyster Girl

Country dance and session tunes played at a stead speed for playing along with, in D or G, and on a D/G melodeon. Videos in this Playalong series may not always be played on a melodeon, but if I use another instrument - eg, fiddle or banjo - it will still be in D or G, or in both keys. Gavin Atkin demonstrates his way of playing the well known jig The Oyster Girl. Played on a standard layout D/G melodeon, the demo is played slowly to make it easy to learn the tune by ear. This video was made for attendees of a workshop at the Tenterden Folk Festival in October 2022, but the Horsmonden traditional music workshops, but I'm very happy for anyone else to make use of them.
