Wonder how much to charge for a show? It doesn't matter if it is a magic show or how much a band charges, this advice is gold: http://entertainment-experts.com Video Information: Corporate entertainer Tom Crowl sits down with magician Denny Haney at the Denny & Lee Magic Studio in Baltimore, Maryland for this interview. This clip was edited from Discussions On Showmanship - a course designed to help entertainers improve stage presence. Video Content: Did you ever have any slow periods where work wasn't coming in? Yes, ah.... What did you do to change that around? To get yourself back on track there? I just increased my prices during the times when I was working. So many people would be afraid to try that. Well, you know, Joel Bauer lectured at my old magic shop years ago and he made a statement that would scare the hell out of everybody. He said look, I don't know what you are charging for your show, but from now on, multiply that by ten. That's your new price! By ten? And then he said, now stop and think about that. If you multiplied it by ten, would you lose 90% of your business? You know what? Probably not. So the amount of money that you make for ten shows - now that's pushing it, ten times, that's pushing it, but the amount of money you make for ten shows and your expenses, wouldn't it be better to get that same amount for one show? Oh yeah. But then you go, but I'm not busy, I'm only doing one show a month. Well how many were you doing before? Ten. Duh! Do the math! Clients don't pay you for a show, they pay you for the value you bring to their event. For more videos and information on becoming a professional performer, visit: / expertentertainers
