Many Christians believe that Jesus descended to the realm of the dead between His crucifixion and resurrection, not after rising. This belief is often referred to as "The Harrowing of Hell." After His death, Jesus descended into the realm of the dead—not to suffer, but to proclaim His victory. There, in the shadowed halls where the righteous had waited for generations, He stood in radiant glory. Abel, the first to fall; Noah, the faithful builder; and Moses, the lawgiver—all looked up as the gates shook and the chains broke. In a moment that shattered the silence of death, Jesus opened the way.
