In the early 1990's, Dr. Peppercorn and his associate, Dr. Foy Cox, completed advanced training in tumescent liposuction from the inventor of the technique, dermatologist, Dr. Jeffrey Klein. In this episode, viewers meet Sue, a local liposuction patient, and witness the process of her liposuction consultation with Dr. Peppercorn and the actual in-office operating room liposuction procedure performed on her thighs with local anesthesia. Sue discusses her experiences a few months after the successful procedure in The Medical Explorer studio. At the end of the segment, viewers see one of the brief TV commercials that Dr. Peppercorn used in 1996 when promoting his cosmetic dermatology work to the local northern California Sacramento Valley community. Dr. Peppercorn and Dr. Cox continue their busy dermatology practices in Yuba City, California, and are affiliated with Sutter Health and the Sutter North Medical Group.
