The 2015 PBA Chameleon Championship will air Sunday, January 3, 2016 at 1 p.m. ET. Simultaneous semifinal matches feature Thomas Larsen vs. Pascal Winternheimer and Jesper Svensson vs. Stu Williams, with the two winners then facing each other for the title. In yet another first from the GEICO PBA World Series of Bowling VII presented by Silver Legacy, four Europeans qualified for the finals of the PBA Chameleon Championship presented by HotelPlanner.com at the National Bowling Stadium marking the first time in PBA Tour history a televised final will consist of four international players. In the third animal pattern lane condition Tour event of the World Series of Bowling, players from Germany, England, Denmark and Sweden will compete in the ESPN finals Sunday, Jan. 3 at 1 p.m. ET. Stuart Williams, the first player from England to win a PBA Tour title, won his best-of-five single-elimination Round of 8 match 3-2 (230-257, 243-235, 220-255, 223-182, 202-200) with the last game coming down to the 10th frame. Williams, who is trying for his second Tour title, needed a nine-count on his final ball and threw a strike to squeak by Jakob Butturff of Chandler, Ariz., in the last game of the match to advance to the finals. Two-time Tour winner Thomas Larsen of Denmark defeated three-time winner Scott Norton of Mission Viejo, Calif., 3-2 (235-237, 191-226, 279-226, 227-199, 214-193) to advance to the final. Bowling in his first WSOB, Pascal Winternheimer of Germany, beat seven-time Tour winner Bill O'Neill of Langhorne, Pa., 3-1 (234-246, 248-215, 225-216, 258-257), to advance to the telecast. Two-handed lefthander and 2015 Kingdom of Bahrain International Open winner Jesper Svensson of Sweden swept his Round of 8 match, 3-0 (300-188, 248-212, 258-225) against Kyle Troup of Taylorsville, N.C. The semifinal matches will be contested simultaneously, with Svensson facing Williams and Larsen squaring off against Winternheimer. The two winners will advance to the championship match.
