But whose idea was it to present these value-added products in these forms? Meet Lucy Petrus from Papar who was originally a kindergarten school teacher at St. Joseph Convent Kindergarten School, Penampang. Lucy left her job as a kindergarten school teacher some 15years ago and went into business selling vegetables in Donggongon. As a means to attract more customers, she tried an innovative idea in cleaning and cutting the various types of vegetables and packing them in small styrofoam trays with stretchable plastic film as wrappers. Her ready to cook vegetables was a hit in town boosting her sales which has now become the preferred choice among office workers returning from a busy day in the office and rushing to cook food for the family made convenient by the Sayur Malas!
