Breast cancer can be classified into various histologic types based on the appearance of the tumor cells under a microscope. Here are the main types: 1. Ductal Carcinoma Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS): A non-invasive cancer where abnormal cells are confined to the milk ducts. Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC): The most common type of breast cancer, where cancer cells spread beyond the ducts into surrounding breast tissue. 2. Lobular Carcinoma Lobular Carcinoma In Situ (LCIS): Not a true cancer but a marker of increased breast cancer risk. Invasive Lobular Carcinoma (ILC): Cancer that begins in the milk-producing lobules and invades surrounding tissues. 3. Special Histologic Types Medullary Carcinoma: A rare type with a soft, fleshy appearance. Mucinous (Colloid) Carcinoma: Characterized by mucus-producing cancer cells. Tubular Carcinoma: A rare, slow-growing type with tube-shaped structures. Papillary Carcinoma: Often found in older women, with finger-like projections. Metaplastic Carcinoma: A rare and aggressive form with mixed cell types. 4. Rare Types Phyllodes Tumors: Tumors that arise from the connective tissue of the breast. Inflammatory Breast Cancer: A rare and aggressive type causing redness and swelling. Paget's Disease of the Nipple: A rare cancer involving the skin of the nipple and areola #Breastcancer
