Faith is our 6 1/2 month old Bernese Mountain Dog. 4 days ago she started exhibiting symptoms such as lethargy, inability to lower her head to her food and water dish, walking with stiffness, and backing up to turn which you can see in the video. She was continuing to worsen, and her pain was becoming excruciating. There is nothing more heart wrenching than hearing your sweet puppy scream and moan in pain. After 3 vets in 3 days, she has been diagnosed with SRMA - Steroid Responsive Meningitis Arteritis. The emergency clinic we took her to yesterday (Sunday evening) has seen two BMD's with this affliction in the last 6 months. Fortunately, the prognosis is very good when the correct treatment is started early enough. Faith is now on two different antibiotics, two different pain med, prisolec, and she will start her steroids tonight, after the rimadyl she was on is totally out of her system as it is VERY dangerous to mix rimadayl (NSAID) and steroids. We'll have our girl back very soon!
