All ladles, either pressed steel or cast iron, may have rough or sharp edges, burs, and in some cases, minor slag left behind from production leaving an "unfinished" appearance to some. We also recommend that you clean and /or sand your ladle prior to use to remove cutting oils, rust, or debris if present to prevent cross contamination to your pot/alloys.
