If the following have failed you, you need to try it: ❌ Foil, pantyhose, tape, vet tape, etc ❌Cutting vines and removing borers, AKA "surgery." ❌Spraying BT or other organic pesticides externally ❌Trap crops ❌Companion planting This has worked with a 100% success rate, when used CORRECTLY, for me for THREE years now! BT is an absolute miracle for getting rid of squash vine borer larvae that are hanging out inside of your vines! Injecting BT into your squash vines Is one of the only ways to control the larval stage of the squash vine borer moth. Every other method involves preventative measures or physical removal; physical removal isn't ideal on a large scale. Preventive measures such as covering squash fields, involve added labor such as hand pollination. If you have a problem with squash vine borers bringing your squash plants down and obliterating your squash harvest, This is probably the most effective way to keep your squash plants alive. BT is an organic biological insecticide that works. The toxin that BT produces Is lethal to the caterpillars and is naturally occurring in the environment- Just not in the concentrations that you find within the insecticide. When I'm growing squash, You will either see me selecting vine borer resistant varieties during a busy year, or injecting safer brand caterpillar control during a quiet summer. There are so many more methods out there, but none of them seem to work well for me- except for BT. Music By: www.bensound.com
