Oftentimes, rib injuries are associated with pain, tenderness, swelling, and difficulty moving. In addition, many rib injuries often occur after intense exercise and occur often in martial arts like jiu-jitsu, wrestling, judo, and other contact sports. Some symptoms people often feel after having a rib injury include it popping, clicking, and feeling like a rib is shifting out of place. This can be a result of a dislocation or subluxation of the rib cartilage. It is very important that you consider getting proper treatment and assessment of this type of pain and one of the best ways to do this is via x-ray, MRI, and/or CT scan. The proper treatment always starts with a proper understanding of the rib injury!
