My 4th visit to the Mon Bridge, which is also known as the Uttamanusorn Bridge, is one of the most iconic landmarks in Sangkhlaburi, in Thailand's western province of Kanchanaburi. The teakwood footbridge is about 445 meters long, making it the longest wooden bridge in Thailand and one of the longest in Southeast Asia. Spanning the Songkalia River, it connects the Thai side of Sangkhlaburi town with the ethnic Mon Village of Ban Wangka on the opposite side. It was built in the 1980s by local villagers under the guidance of a revered Mon monk from the temple of Wat Wang Wiwekaram. The bridge was constructed to help the Mon community access the town after the creation of the Vajiralongkorn Dam, which flooded their original village. Part of the bridge collapsed due to floods in 2013, but was later rebuilt by locals and volunteers. Location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/8hwcrgkZh3p1D...
