The fog is so thick that the road is barely visible, but you stay optimistic and head out to check on your project—because, first, it dries quickly, and second, why not? (Though I almost ended up driving to Karma instead.) It turned out to be a great call, the boulder is dry. A quick warm-up, a final brush and some chalk, and I was ready to go from the start. Every move flowed perfectly, and with each one, I kept thinking, Am I really going to do it? … YES! Super happy to tick 8A so soon after my hand surgery and a rough year for climbing. It’s my style, maybe on the softer side, but still a big step in the right direction. Over the weekend, Nico and Cyril joined me to explore Le 111 and Châteauveau. The conditions were perfect, and we got to climb plenty of high-quality new boulders!
