Responding to the claim, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said the Speaker had tried to resolve the deadlock and wanted the House to function smoothly. Rijiju clarified that the Speaker had not made a firm commitment, but had said Gandhi and leaders of other parties would be allowed to speak if a consensus was reached.
