"The Leader-Beast, cunning in his hatred, foresaw my coming and sought to wear me down - unleashing upon me a ceaseless tide of chitin and claw, yearning for me to yield." "But yield I did not." - Quartus What started as a light run - just testing an alternative to the usual “walking stim” Bulwark meta - quickly turned into a full fledged invasion. I've built the Bulwark around durability and crowd control rather than parry-dueling and healing. The meta still leans heavily into Shock/Tank builds with the healing banner, which I tend to avoid because healing perks feel like autopicks and remove any creativity and intra-build variety. I brought over what I’ve learned from playing a Block/Dodge Assault - a constant focus on armour economy: Perfect Dodges to open up GS and trigger Armour Reinforcement Setting up lethal GS on minoris Block Stack chaining for armour on demand and buffed crowd control with power whirl Complimenting this playstyle is Bulwark's solid set of endurance perks (Damage Reduction, Stagger Res, etc) that synergised brilliantly with CC banner effects: AoE damage, 20% damage reduction, and 20% increased damage in its radius. Any time a swarm showed up - which was most of the mission - I dropped the banner and started swingin'. For the Block Power Sword, I usually prefer the Artificer variant for its heavier hits. On Assault, it's incredibly powerful - the speed of the weapon can be learned and played around. However, I tried the Relic version this time for the extra speed. It doesn’t hit as hard as I’d like for a block build, but the consistent stagger from Power Rake and Whirl after Block Stack AoE was genuinely useful, especially when surrounded by warriors throwing out heavy attacks. ICYMI - you stagger enemies for 2 seconds after the AoE, while dealing increased damage from buffs and block debuff. Now if only I saw this level of action whenever I queue Decap on Assault. Oh, and Heavy Bot MVP.
