Lou thinks that ai companies are currently stealing from publishers making it harder to send real reporters into the field to provide news. We also discussed the manipulation of photos in news pubs and the ethics around ai generative ai changing a photo to change the story. right now ai is investing in hardware and software but not investing in the source material that trains the models. If this keeps up we'll have ai trained on more ai slop, bots talking to bots and these tools will loose power as they won't have good content to be trained on, and so much more.
