Recorded at Queen Elizabeth Hall, London, 2009. "For the Rest of Your Life" appears on Hope Sandoval & the Warm Inventions' 2009 album, "Through the Devil Softly". So, check out mazzystar.free.fr The music for "For the Rest of Your Life" had an earlier incarnation as a Mazzy Star song, "Plain Gold Ring", the band performed live on Mazzy's 2000 European tour. The two songs are very similar instrumentally, including the psychedelic style bass & guitar effects. I've uploaded a recording of Mazzy doing "Plain Gold Ring". Those who like the sound Hope's band gets on this recording might enjoy this upload too: "Hope Sandoval - Silver & Gold - Live 2002, Paris, rare (unreleased) song +lyrics" , as it has psychedelic-style effects somewhat similar to "For The Rest of Your Life's" sound. Mazzy's "Plain Gold Ring" is an unusual case of a cover version of a song (recorded by Nina Simone 50+ years ago) where the music has been so altered/rewritten that, except for lyrics & some of the vocal melody, the song is hard to recognize as the same song Nina Simone sang (versions of Simone singing it are findable at YT). In fact, Hope takes full credit for the music, as the '09 album's song writing credits list Hope Sandoval as sole writer of "For the Rest of Your Life". She also penned her own lyrics for "For the Rest of Your Life".
