Our quest for the Sword of Kings leads us to a place in the South of the Paramina Rift, the Stilshrine of Miriam is a fairly long dungeon so I had to cut some things, but notable events in it include the first Crystal Mimic, easily noticeable thanks to its green color, it attacks with nothing but Magic, so casting Shell on your party before examining the Crystal is a smart move, once defeated, it transforms into a real Save Crystal. Next up and later into the dungeon lies a boss, Vinuskar, it is fairly unremarkable, but beware, the room has a magnetic field not unlike the one in the Lodestone Cavern back in FFIV, fortunately, this one doesn't completely immobilize the characters but slows them down a lot. Later in the dungeon, I encounter the Negalmuur, a Rare Monster that spawns in the Ward of the Sword-King area after you've spent 30 minutes in the dungeon and slain the Darkmare that guards the place. Negalmuur summons undead enemies and can potentially Doom your characters, it is, however, susceptible to Disable, as I discovered here. It can also be used for some levelling strats, but I didn't bother. And last but not least is Mateus, not the FFII Emperor, but an Ice Esper that guards the Sword of Kings! It is weak to Thunder, however, be sure to Dispel his Reflect before you start casting your offensive spells, such as Thundara, an Uhlan can also put the Storm Spear to good use! The Boss will use Ice attacks on your party, so any defense against that is welcome, his ultimate attack, Bizzaja, can inflict Sap on your party, so be prepared for that. I tried using Quickenings to act before he used that, but he had the priority, still, at least it was a flashy finish!
