Hey there, this is a brief comparison og ghosts in all of the sims games as of 2024. I thought I could touch on ghost hunters and npcs but this got to be too much to handle in under 30 minutes so I just cut them and may mention them in other comparisons, just know, this is focused on ghosts as a lifestate rather than all the ones you can find around the world. Anyway, there is a lot more to ghosts than there was when I made my comparison all those years ago so this is an update rather to that. Back in the day I used to focus on the basegame but after 10 years of Sims 4 I am very much done doing that, it is a blessing and a curse cause there are sooo many little details that I cannot possibliy cover. I didnt mention all the packs that were used here but it was basically all of them This is an evolution so Im just gonna mention the things I like about each Sims 1 had great sounds and they felt like being haunted so it is a very different experience from modern ghosts, which just break everything, so that is kind of a plus in my book Sims 2 again had that spooky vibe to it but this time ghosts can be more calm ias long as you dont piss them off and they kill you! They are the scariest in that regard Sims 3 is where everything changes, ghosts become more normal and even playful, plus, it is nice knowing they cant kill you and that ghosts babies and ghost pets exist Sims 4 has the advantage of the new life and death expansion, obviously it is gonna be better than the basegame. I love how they went back to their spooky roots and now they bring some threat to the game, but they cannot kill sims and correct me if Im wrong but only playable ghosts can do all of these things so it feels like once again the Maxis team is too afraid to make the player lose control and thats not the point of ghosts imo.
