Soon other popular coffee roaster and companies like Lavazza, Keurig Dr. Pepper with K-Cup and Dolce Gusto followed with own coffee pods and capsule system launches worldwide. Compatible capsules became popular when patents for the big coffee systems expired. Nowadays almost all famous coffee brands like Starbucks, Costa Coffee, Peet´s Coffee, Illy, Jacobs, LÓr, Café Royal and JM Smucker offer coffee pods and coffee capsules for different systems. Retailers sell their own private label and white label products instore. In 2022 over 76 Billion coffee pods and capsules where sold globally. Demand for single serve capsules, both in retail and online sales, continues to grow strongly. The coffee consumption in emerging regions like South East Asia and South America are forecasted to drive growth in the years to come.
