Welcome to Mario Kart 64. This game comes from the Nintendo 64 era of games as you can probably tell by its name. This video will be of the Japanese version of Mario Kart 64. The game is basically the same. There are a few differences. Do you think you can spot them? #mariokart64 #n64 #longplay This is the point where I like to talk a little about why I like this game. As per usual if you have a story about why you like this game please leave it in the comments below. I would love to read about it. This was the very first gam I had for the N64 when I was younger. I remember it like it was yesterday. It was Christmas and I awoke early to open my gifts . I opened this big box marked as "From Santa" and inside was a N64 and a copy of Mario Kart 64. At this point in my life I was mostly playing the SNES and some PS1 when I would go to my Aunts. I did not have much experience with 3D games. I would play this with my Mom so much. We would spend weekends playing the game and hanging out together. I would wake up early from school to play it. It was such a good time and such a fond memory. The music in this game is unreal and so unlike anything else I had hear at the time. the tracks are so catch to hum while you're riding along. Now, I'll be honest I don't know if its me being babied by modern day Mario Kart games or its the Japanese version, but man was this game fast! My goal with this longplay was to play as each character and do 100cc and 150cc since that would work out to being all 8 characters. The second I started the first one I was like "was this always this fast?" It was not to bad once I got the hang of it but it sometimes felt like: if I mess up once there is no getting back to 1st place. I did recover a few times but lost just as many. The drifting is also mechanically was different then modern iterations of the Mario Kart games. Its not to bad to use honestly its just takes a little adjusting. Overall as I'm sure you can tell, I love this game and it holds such a special place in my heart. This was fun to play especially since the N64 games are region locked by little groves on the cartridge. So this is played on a Japanese N64. If you have never played this game and want to try it out. I really recommend it 100%. You'll have a lot of fun, I just know it.
