Movie Review 89 - The Man with the Iron Fists - Video Blog

Hi, welcome to Richard’s Reviews. Today's review is The Man with the Iron Fists. Featuring a very diverse cast. You have Lucy Liu, Russel Crowe, David Bautista, Rick Yune, Jamie Chung, Rza, and Cung Le. When the Emperors gold is taken, everyone is looking for it. Everyone except RZA and Jamie. The introduction scene is very retro, and has a good fight scene. The story goes, that everyone is out for themself, and wants a piece of that gold. There is a lot of retro style story telling, and fighting. The movie does get a bit supernatural when it reaches David Bautista's character and RZA. David Bautista's character has iron skin. Everyone else utilize guns and knives. RZA's character becomes pivotal, because he wants to leave town, but is the blacksmith. They want him to build weapons. He is involved with Jamie Chung, and they plan to get away. However, there is a lot of double crossing in this movie, and RZA ends up losing Jamie, and having his hands cut off for his resistance. I did say it is supernatural, since the story states he has a background with the shao lin training. He is able to manipulate metal. They make him some iron fists, and he is able to merge with it and make them his own. There is a final conflict and it is pretty good. The front of the box is a slip cover with all the pivotal characters. There is a pun at the bottom that states you can't spell kung fu with out F and U. It's funny. With the slip off, it is the same image. Inside is the Blu Ray, DVD, and Digital Download. On the back is a description of the story. and a montage image of scenes from the movie. Rating - 3.5 Stars out of 5 The adventure part is pretty cool, and the characters all do their thing pretty well. I did not have high hopes for this movie, but it surprised me.
