year ago, we uncovered the hidden wealth of the Kyiv Metro director’s family and exposed suspicious budget contracts. Viktor Brahinskyi, the head of the metro, fled — along with some of his team, many of whom still have a lot of questions to answer. His deputy, Dmytro Peklun, was found to be living in a house in Kozyn, even though the documents only show an empty plot of land owned by the family. The financial director under Brahinskyi, Oleksii Khaimonov, declared millions in real estate, but claimed they were “gifts” from relatives — though not all of them were disclosed. And the chief lawyer, Volodymyr Babenko, simply erased his wife and daughter from his declaration — along with properties registered in their names. The National Police is investigating the "ballet contract," and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau is looking into metro embezzlement and Brahinskyi’s wealth.
