Have you ever found yourself trying to learn a dance and just continue to mess up, move right instead of left, continuously bumping into someone in rehearsal? If so, you may have Directional Dyslexia. In episode four of You've Got To Be Carefully Taught hosted by Caryn Ott-Hillman, Educator and Director for Music Theater Works' YouthREACH, helps you understand the different types of Directional Dyslexia. And that it's ok. Don't give yourself a hard time. Just slow the steps down and process. YouthREACH is Music Theater Works’ program for children and teens, from half-price tickets to performance programs, to internships. The mission for these programs is to transform young people’s lives through musical theater. The program includes: YouthREACH:Talent - MTW’s performance based youth programs The Youth Company: Music Theater Works’ high school performance troupe, “shadowing” one Main Stage production each year. The Kids Company (the Musical Theater Workshops): four one-week-long full-day camps where kids 8 to 14 prepare classic musicals adapted for children. YouthREACH:Tech – Production assistantships for teens to learn marketable skills in administration, backstage, and technical aspects of theater production.
