Ripping current, giant swimming halibuts, huge pelagic fish such as cods, pollack and coalfish, crystal clear waters and millions of baitfish.. just to mention a couple of Saltstraumens wonders. I was lucky enough to spend a weekend in this amazing place with two skilled spearos with lots of experience from this special current, Martin and Arild. Togheter with Jørn aka @spearfishingsaltstraumen on Insta as a guide, everything was ready for an epic trip. Then the Norwegian autumn did its thing, with heavy rainfall ruining the visibility and light, wind ruining the halibut spots, and the moon slowing down the current so much that the normal hunting spots were unproductive. Despite this, we had a blast with some fantastic catches to feed us, friends and family over the cold winter months.
