my experience at georgia governor's honors program during the summer of 2024 - ghp 61 :) half of this vlog is probably the ducks on campus. make sure to watch this on the highest quality! it may default to a really low quality, but i promise there's HD. also ignore how late this is.. editing the clips took a while. BUILDINGS & EXPERIENCE ☆ i stayed in CP4! while most girls had three other roommates, i had a two-person room, and the absolute best roommate (claire). we had all three meals at lakeside, where the food was actually really good. coming from someone with allergies, they took great measures to make sure that everything was properly labeled. shoutout to the lakeside staff! my classes were in the IT building, which is the math/cs/social studies building! it was really cold in there. bring a jacket. PRISM, theatre, and dance performances (all absolutely amazing) were in the PAC (performing arts center). also really cold in there .. GHDances were held in the Union Ballroom, except for the last dance, which was in the CP Quad. dances were absolutely amazing. organized so well. FUN TIMESTAMPS ☆ 00:06 character introductions (my friends) 04:53 karaoke seminar :') 11:51 GHDance #1 (and karaoke) 18:01 theatre ending (absolutely loved this) 22:33 4th of july party in CP Quad 28:11 GHDance #3 (and karaoke!) 38:09 major fair! TIPS ☆ make sure to step out of your comfort zone at ghp! not only in your major classes, but especially in your minor! i chose a minor that i was pretty familiar with (cybersecurity, i already knew a lot of coding) and i didn't find it interesting at all. i wish i had gone with the 'mindful movement' minor - where they literally learned how to dance for 2 hours. go to seminars !!! seminars were some of the most fun i had during GHP. I went to a karaoke seminar on the first night, and it was the best start I could've asked for to an amazing four weeks. if any future GHP students end up watching this, you can ask any questions you have in the comments. enjoy!
