In this episode of Tales of Money, we mark the 90th anniversary of the finding of the quadruple Bosnian ducat. This ducat is a unique medieval gold coin discovered in 1935 near Prijepolje. It later belonged to Aleksandar Poljanic. After his death in 1948, no further documentation of the coin is known. The ducat reappeared at a numismatic auction in Zagreb on May 25, 1996, where it was sold to a private buyer. Since then, its location has remained unknown. Scholars continue to debate which Bosnian ruler commissioned the coin, most often attributing it to King Tvrtko I Kotromanic, King Stjepan Tomas, or King Stjepan Tomasevic. This video presents the historical facts and the unresolved questions surrounding one of the most important medieval coins of Bosnia. 🎬 Money tells stories. I just let it speak. This video is part of “Tales of Money”, my ongoing project to bring currency to life – with images, words, and sound. 👉 More coins & stories on TikTok: @Tales_Of_Money 📌 Don’t forget to subscribe if you believe coins can speak. #talesofmoney #bosnia #bosniaandherzegovina #bosniankingdom #kotromanic #bosnianhistory #numismatics #coinhistory #goldcoins #medievalhistory #europeanhistory #historicalcoins
