For many years, the Welsh have been gifting their loved ones with Welsh lovespoons in a Welsh Valentine's Day tradition that is still going strong today. Historically, these gifts have been hand carved with all sorts of pretty symbols and shapes signifying different themes. In celebration of St Dwynwen's Day (Welsh Valentines Day) which is celebrated annually on the 25th January, we visited our local lovespoon carvers at The Lovespoon Workshop in Pembrokeshire, West Wales to hear all about their family history. Huge thank you to David Thomas at The Lovespoon Workshop for taking the time to chat with us and show us some of the beautiful lovespoons available to buy in his Pembrokeshire store. Find out more about Welsh Valentine's Day and the legend of Saint Dwynwen in our blog: https://bit.ly/4bKQP28 Or pay a visit to The Lovespoon Workshop, Pembrokeshire to order your bespoke lovespoon the next time you're in the area.
