Business forced to shut doors

One of the last businesses standing on Blackstone and McKinley is now being forced to close its doors. This comes as the city makes way for the grade separation project, forcing several businesses to close under eminent domain. For over a decade -- Harman Dhillon and his family have run this liquor store on Blackstone and McKinley. Despite experiencing nearby fires and break-ins in recent weeks he's remained committed to keeping his doors open. But in less than two weeks, Dhillon will be forced to close his doors to make way for the city's grade separation project. For this project to come to fruition, about 20 businesses will need to close. Dhillon says the city is offering him less than half of what his business is worth.
