Fraud and corruption-accused Moroadi Cholota's legal representatives have filed an application for leave to appeal the Free State High Court decision to dismiss her bid not to be prosecuted in the R255 million asbestos roof removal corruption case. She was challenging the court's jurisdiction to try her. The papers were only brought to the judge and prosecution's attention during today's proceedings. The court handed down a judgment last month, after the Constitutional Court remitted the matter back to Free State High Court, finding that it has jurisdiction to put her on trial for charges including fraud, corruption and money laundering.
