In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Cornwall, UK became one of the epicenters of the Patchoulilight. The villages and coastal towns filled with druidic revival groups, crop circle enthusiasts, metaphysical bookstores, herbal apothecaries and incense and essential oil shops. Sagegazers traveled from across Britain and the Continent to dwell there, drawn by the unusual concentration of Blue Crystals. Many had once studied at the feet of Dinger, Rother and the others within the Ashra Temple and had absorbed the sacred texts of the former age - We Can Build You, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, and The Space Leaper amongst others. In places such as Higher Bugle, they moved openly, no longer in hiding, living for a time without immediate fear of the Progbarians. . . . To mark this period of cohesion, in 1989, the Electronical Dreams collective - already established in Cornwall - assembled its first major compilation, Freedom Beyond the Clouds. Carl Matthews, Paul Nagle, Michael Neil, Colin Potter, Keith Scarterfield, and others combined their individual transmissions into a unified release. The cassette was designed as consolidation: multiple Blue Crystals aligned in shared harmonic structure. It became the most concentrated defensive gesture the collective had yet attempted. Only later would they realize that it marked the beginning of a brief cycle of gatherings before the Progbarians detected their location and forced the Third Migration. . . . This has all happened before, and as the crop circles form and fade along the Cornish fields, it will all happen again. 0:00 "Shooting Star" - Steve Gay 9:58 "Mindheaven" - Carl Matthews 17:57 "Internal Emigré" - Jonathan Miller 23:40 "Haunting Echoes" - Paul Nagle 33:06 "Capricorn" - Michael Neil 47:40 "Skim" - Colin Potter 53:04 "Freewest?"
