I’ve been building DIY cameras for a few years now, combining film aesthetics with digital technology — and this one has become my favorite. timestamps - 00:00 - Start 01:40 - Lenses 05:30 - Software Operation 09:26 - Sample Pictures In this video, I walk through my Monochrome Waist-Level Viewfinder camera, built entirely around a Raspberry Pi and a monochrome sensor. It’s designed to capture that film-style shooting experience — no playback screen, full manual control, and rich black-and-white tones straight out of camera. I’ll show how the interface works, how I use it in the field, and share some sample photos captured with the custom Delta 400, HP5, and Tri-X simulations I created. If you’re into DIY cameras, photography experiments, or just want to slow down and shoot more intentionally — this build might inspire your next project. Features shown in this video: – Manual shutter and ISO control – Real-time focus peaking and histogram – Tap-to-zoom manual focusing – Film simulation profiles – USB storage and battery management Want to build your own?
