How It Unfolded: The action is picked up on Round 3; the Height is @ 5.55m Kendricks (USA), and Duplantis (SWE) cleared the height on their first try. Coppell (GBR) misses his first try, but, instead of continue trying decides to go to the next Height. Round 4, the Height is @ 5.65m Coppell misses the two opportunities he has left to clear the height, he’s eliminated. Hendricks and Duplantis skipped this height. Round 5, the Height is @ 5.74m Kendricks cleared the height on his second attempt. Duplantis missed twice, and decides to go to the next height. Round 6, the Height is @ 5.80m Duplantis missed his only opportunity to clear the height, he’s eliminated. Kendricks missed twice and still had one opportunity to clear the height, but, the rain had intensified making the conditions very dangerous, Kendricks had already won the Competition, and decided to stop at this point.
