ReCyclone EH - Straw Fired Boiler

A ReCyclone EH was installed in a new straw biomass boiler in Sweden for PM emission control. Straw is one of the most difficult biomass types to what fluegas cleaning is concerned. The reason lies on the very low density of the particles that difficults its capture by centrifugal separators. One objective of this video is to demonstrate the effect of turning the electrostatic feature off and on. While it is turned off, the system works as a Mechanical ReCyclone (MH), which, for this difficult application, is a less appropriate solution to comply with very strict emission limits (30mg/Nm3). However, should there be any problem associated with any electrical component, the system still works mechanically, with an efficiency far bigger than any other mechanical separator in the market. Effective flowrate: 6700 m3/h Power: 2 MWth Temperature: 180 ºC Inlet concentration: approx. 1 g/Nm3 Expectd emssioins : under 30 mg/Nm3 The ReCyclone EH is composed by 6 Hurricanes and 6 electrostatic recirculators.
