This monastery does not appear in guidebooks (eapecially in Japan) and I am not sure how many people would actually want to visit it. In truth, you could simply look it up on Google Maps. However, I thought this might be a place that German-focused YouTubers would probably not cover, and I also wanted to make a reference video for those who wish to reach it on foot. That is why I created this video. This may be of interest to those who sing Gregorian chant and would like to encounter the spirit of the Benedictine tradition. It turned out to be closer to Munich than I had expected, somewhat like commuting from Ikebukuro, downtown of Tokyo to my workplace in Wako city, Saitama. From Hauptbahnhof (the underground Munich Central Station), you can take the S-Bahn S4 line. From München Hbf (the above-ground Deutsche Bahn station), you can take a regional train (RE or RB). Both routes go to Geltendorf Station. ‼️The fastest way is to change trains at Geltendorf and get off at the first stop, St. Ottilien, which is located right next to the monastery. The MVV-app, which covers transportation from central Munich to the suburbs, is very useful for checking schedules. (It even shows delay information—so why are the trains still so often late?)
