The remote island of Arland, part of the Malden Islands Chain and officially under the control of the microstate of Everon, has emerged as a key strategic node in the widening conflict between NATO and Russia. Though sparsely populated, Arland hosts a major Russian military airbase on its western plains — now confirmed by NATO intelligence to be undergoing a significant buildup. Over the past 72 hours, six Il-76 strategic airlifters have landed at the facility, delivering personnel, equipment, and pre-staged materiel. Additional HUMINT and SIGINT suggest preparations are underway for a large-scale Russian airborne operation, with Arland intended as the forward launch platform against neighboring NATO-aligned territories. To prevent the imminent escalation, Combat Team Bravo (CTB), a NATO special operations unit, has been covertly inserted onto the island.
