Join the Ventura County Sheriff's Office Law Enforcement Explorer Program!   Are you between the ages of 14 and 21 and interested in learning about law enforcement? The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office invites you to be part of our Law Enforcement Explorer Program! This unique opportunity is designed to educate and provide valuable insights into the world of law enforcement.   Why Join the Explorer Program? Gain Knowledge: Understand the complexities of police services and the skills needed for our community's safety. Hands-On Experience: Attend a three-week, 120-hour summer academy created exclusively for Explorers. Community Involvement: Participate in meetings, organized details, and fundraisers.   To join the Explorer Program, you must: Be 14 to 21 years old and have completed the 8th grade. Complete the Explorer Application. Pass a thorough background exam. Maintain a 2.0 GPA. Have no criminal history, alcohol, or drug use. Possess a good driving record (if applicable).   What to Expect Engagement: Attend scheduled meetings and participate in community activities. Education: Learn firsthand about police challenges and job skills.
