It was only back in April that Steam Linux Alpha was available to install. Just seven months on and you can now install Steam Linux Beta. A more stable version, which should give you better gameplay. Also, Steam Beta now supports a wider selection of Chromebooks, so if you were unable to use Steam Linux Alpha because of this, you may now be in luck. The Steam Linux App is far better than the experience you get from installing Steam directly on Linux. Although you may still have to use that method if your Chromebook isn't supported by the Steam Linux Beta App. You will find the Steam Linux app is more stable and offers better gameplay.
