After a successful 20-team season, the Arena Football League welcomes back the New Orleans VooDoo, returns to Albany, NY with the Conquest, brings back the Detroit Drive, returns to Hartford with a revised version of the New England Sea Wolves, rebrands the San Diego Seawolves as the Sharks and finally, brings in the last two champions of Arena Football 2 (af2) - the Memphis Xplorers and the Spokane Shock. The Columbus Destroyers will return in either 2008 or 2009.
