Brugge, a picturesque medieval city in Belgium, is famous for its cobblestone streets, canals, and stunning architecture. Known as the "Venice of the North," it offers a magical, timeless charm that's perfect for exploring on foot or by boat. The closest public transport stop to De Burg(Square), City Hall(Stadhuis Brugge) and the Basilica of the Holy Blood(Basiliek van het Heilig Bloed) is the Brugge Dijver / Brugge Wollestraat bus stop, only a few minutes' walk away. The Holy Blood can be venerated by pilgrims on the altar towards the right hand side. Since photography is not allowed there we did not film it. The timings for veneration can be found on their website. When we went it was from 2 PM to 4 PM. Entry is free. The entry on the left goes to the lower chapel dedicated to St. Basil the Great, which offers a quiet, intimate space with simple, elegant arches and stonework. The Christmas market in Brugge transforms the city into a festive winter scene, with cozy stalls, local food and handmade gifts A canal boat tour in Bruges is one of the best ways to see the city, offering scenic views of medieval buildings, charming bridges, and quiet canals that can’t be fully appreciated from the streets. Most tours last 30–45 minutes and provide a relaxing, picturesque perspective of the city’s historic heart. Brugge has a mix of small local shops and popular brands selling chocolates, waffles, souvenirs, lace, and other Belgian products. We missed the popular hot chocolate experience at the Old Chocolate House tearoom because of the long wait, so instead we grabbed our hot chocolate over the counter at the nearby Chocolate Line. The streets were over crowded. Probably due to the Christmas Market. We had lunch at the 't Lammetje restaurant. The cost for a 3 course menu was €25. Included a starter(Prawn Scampi, Prawn Croquette), main course(Flemish Beef Stew) and a dessert(Apple Pie). I also had the local beer, Brugse Zot. You can reach Brugge by taking a train to Brugge Station, and from there, buses (e.g. 1 and 2) run regularly to central stops like ’t Zand, Sint-Salvatorskerk and Dijver. We got down at Dijver. The bus cost €3 per person on the De Lijn app. If you are coming from Blackenberge, you can take bus 40 that passes Brugge Station and continues to Brugge ’t Zand, which is close to the city centre. Ticket cost €3 per person. We found economical hotel options in Blackenberge. We stayed at WP Sauveur which had a pool and sauna. And in the morning we took a walk around the beach area. You can find both the train station and the bus station in the center of Blankenberge.
