Sri Vinayaka Temple, Guddattu | Dharma Degula Darshana Guddattu Vinayaka temple is a famous and ancient temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha. The temple is also called as Jaladhivasa Ganapathi temple. It is the only Jaladhivasa Ganapathi temple in India. It is believed that the three feet idol of Lord Ganesha has emerged itself from the rock. According to the legends, once Lord Shiva went to a war against the demon Tripurasura. Unfortunately, Lord Shiva forgot to worship Lord Ganesha before going to the war. Because of that Lord Shiva did not gain victory in the war. Lord Shiva became angry after realizing that because of his son Lord Ganesha that he could not gain victory. In anger, Lord Shiva shot dreadful arrows targeting Lord Ganesha. However, no arrow harmed Ganesha. The arrows carried Lord Ganesha and dropped him in the ocean of honey. Lord Ganesha drained the ocean as he is extremely fond of honey. Lord Ganesha became happy and blessed Shiva. After that Lord Shiva gained victory in the war and killed the demon. The excessive consumption of honey caused burning sensation to Lord Ganesha and he began to writhe in pain. Lord Shiva took pity on his son and instructed Ganesha to dwell in the pool adjacent to the holy Narasimhatheertha.
