Jenn: Hi, this is Jenn from geekysexylove... Sean: and Sean J:...and we are here at Sex Geek Summer Camp 2017. We are in a hammock, by the river, and it is a beautiful day here in the mountains. We're just laying around reflecting on what we've learned here at Sex Camp. We're on Day 4 now, in the middle of the day, and I'm a little sad that it's coming to an end, but I'm also really tired. There's been so much information, um, I don't even know if I can fit any more in my head! You just get so much thrown at you, and it's amazing, and fabulous, and, yahhhhhh! S: I was a bit skeptical about coming to camp, partly because you had already taken SG cubed course and I thought we don't need that same information over again. But, one, it is a lot of the same information, but it gets really well reinforced and we get to talk with others and see how it can apply to us. But also there was a whole lot of new information that we didn't get from SG3. J: Also, the thing that you don't get on SG3 - and SG3 is Sex Geek School for Gifted Sex Geeks - it's the online component, essentially, to Sex Geek Summer Camp, and it gives a lot of the same information that we get here at camp. But, you do that alone. And that's good and bad. You - I mean, it's good in that you can take your time with the material and really dive into it and think about it as you're going through it. Um, whereas here it's so fast paced! You're getting a lot of information at once. So, actually having gone through the online (course) was great because I'm - ya know, I kind of had a sense of what we were going through and then I just got all of those ideas reinforced. Um, but the other thing that you don't get is the people. We, I think there's 90 campers this year? S: 85 or 90 J: Yeah, it's the highest amount ever, and it's probably going to grow again, but... S: We've made so many contacts. J: Oh my goodness S: And done more networking than I've ever done at any other conference. J: Then, really, we could do anywhere in this business, I think. It's, you know, even some of the other sex-positive conferences we've been to, I don't think really give you the opportunity to know people as well, because we're here in the woods, in the middle of nowhere, ya know, we're not, like, in a big city, trying to go out to dinner, and, ya know... S: Yeah, we're not in a hotel with four other conferences going on. J: Right. S: Yeah, there have been a few challenges but a lot of those challenges like, allowed us to focus on what we were here to do. J: Or, helped us do things, like, for one thing, we can kind of be introverted. And, while there are options for you here at camp to get away and to be introverted, we opted for a room in the Lodge, which we're sharing with two people - two great guys, who are both Cuddlists - and just being, like, rooming with them, which is a really different situation for us, has been really cool. Like, getting to know them in depth, you know, like as we're laying around in the morning, waking up, chatting about stuff. So...you don't get that at hotel conferences, usually. S: No... J: Unless you try and room share. S: Usually you have to pay extra to get somebody to come into your room. J: Ha! Exactly! (laughs) Especially for sex. Not that there's any sex going on.
