Sara's innovative work focuses on developing a low-cost, easy-to-use biosensing platform to detect cancer-related exosomes—nanoparticles released by cancer cells long before other biomarkers are present. By isolating and analyzing these exosomes from bodily fluids, her device can enable early cancer detection, offering the potential for more timely diagnoses and better long-term outcomes.
