"Marvel Comics' Dracula: Sovereign of the Damned" (1980): Watchin' Movies & Dyin' Inside - Anime

I watch another movie and see whether or not it's amazing or if I start dying inside. Today's feature: 1980's "Dracula, aka "Dracula: Sovereign of the Damned", directed by Minoru Okazaki and Akinori Nagaoka. It's your typical boy meets girl story. Granted, the boy is Dracula, and he meets the girl when he whisks her away from a Satanic cult that believes him to be their dark ruler. But Dracula and his special lady still fall for each other. Good enough for me. Based on Marvel Comics's "Tomb of Dracula" title from the 1970s, this is the little-seen, however infamous, anime adaptation with voice acting and animation of varying quality, and a story that tries to squeeze 70 issues of content into a 90 minute runtime in a way that's not a totally garbled mess.
