As a martial artist, I admire the real-life heroes who used their trained skills in times that matter against evil. Martial arts prepare us mentally, physically, and emotionally to fight for war and self-dense,  via training drills, scenarios such as sparring, and more realistically the competitions, it enables us to function at our best with situational awareness when facing extreme aggression. Two real-life heroes in South Africa fought for their lives protecting themselves in a Cash in transit vehicle. A group of men tried to rob the vehicle by chasing and firing at them. One round was fired directly at the driver but failed to penetrate the bulletproof window.   The driver was a former special police task force retired in 2004 now running his private tactical course and drives cash in a transit van like a side business.  A combination of education, training, and experience lead his colleague and himself to survive this horrific shooting rubbery. You can bet all his previous training increased his chance to stay alive in this aggressive act.
